In order to further deepen vocational education reform and better serve the development of enterprises, more than 90 students majored in communication from Henan University of Engineering visited and communicated with SmartGen on April 16, 2019.

SmartGen visited to WOODWARD for the first time in Dec. 2016.

WOODWARD came to China to make an on-the-spot investigation of SmartGen in April 2017.

On April 11, 2018, the two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement and released the cooperative products.

In June 2018, the cooperative products went into mass production and were sent to the whole world.

In the past year, with the worldwide promotion of WOODWARD, WOODWARD products have been applied all over the world and gained great achievements!

The remote monitoring controller can easily monitor and control the operation of system in the monitoring center. It can also improve the efficiency of human-computer interaction. Based on the specific needs of genset industry, SmartGen has developed 15-inch remote monitoring controller HMU15, which can monitor multiple sets, auto start/stop genset and realize genset parallel.

HMU15 is suitable for HGM95XX parallel controllers of SmartGen. It has simple wiring and easy installation. Users have better solutions to meet the needs. It also can reduce the secondary development cycle, research and development costs for users.

Gas genset, as a new energy source generation, is the main force of the current power generation system for environmental protection. At present, gas power generation includes natural gas, biogas generated by livestock manure, straw gas, landfill gas, coal-bed gas. The advantages of gas power generation are as follows: low power generation cost, environmental protection, energy reuse, low noise and low vibration. The disadvantage are as follows: the requirement for fuel concentration and the stability of gas source are high.

Case

There is a gas genset which is synchronized with mains by HGM9510. Active power was originally set at 100KW during debugging, but GOV reached the upper limit when the set was 50KW. AVR also reached the upper limit. The effect of increasing the SW2 range of GOV and AVR was still not obvious. After consulting gas genset manufacturer we knew that the concentration of methane was not up to the standard, so the power couldn’t reach the standard. And the set was close to transformer, sometimes the mains will reach 254V. We set output power to 50KW and the set works normally for a long time.

The case shows that the gas genset must ensure sufficient and stable gas supply in order to maximize its effectiveness.

When configuring the controller, it is necessary to set the programmable input port as “mains parallel mode” and select all items of the mains break page (frequency change rate, vector deviation, mains over voltage, mains under voltage, mains over frequency, mains under frequency). The range can be set according to the stability of mains, and the alarm action can be selected as electrical tripping.

When the active power and reactive power change rapidly in sync mode, you could try to reduce the gain and stability of active power and reactive power in load until they are stable.

HEM8400 is a kind of engine CAN monitor which is suitable for construction machinery. It can collect and display various parameters and states of engine via internal CANBUS. It has the functions of diagnosing engine alarm and adjusting speed.

HEM8400 can be widely used in engineering machinery, special vehicles, generator sets and other engine-driven engineering equipment, including mining, road and bridge, petroleum, marine equipment.

Spring is in the air. The 21st anniversary celebration of SmartGen and sports meet has been held globally on March 18, 2019. The sports meet Zhengzhou branch officially started at 13:30 p.m. and sports projects are divided into badminton and running. At the sports meeting, everyone showed their skills and spirits. Everybody cheered for the athletes.

During the interval, we arranged the food, drinks and fruits supply area for athletes and cheering-section. A cake is particularly noticeable, engraved with the name of the employees who joined our company over 10 years. They not only dedicated their youth to SmartGen, but also witnessed the development and growth of our company. We are looking forward to continuing to work together with you.

No matter in the match or in the work, all SmartGeners have the spirit of being brave in struggling. Every attempt, every improvement is our growth. Let us continue to move forward to the dream of “Century-old SmartGen”!

Recently one customer gave us feedback that HGM4010CAN control module starting relay does not output, resulting in genset failure.

We were there and used multimeter DC voltage gauge to measure the starting relay. It indeed didn’t output when starting. After inquiring the drawings and lines, we found that the starting relay does not have an extended DC12V relay and the relay capacity of the control module is only 5A. When starting, the contact current of the relay is 2-3 times.

Reason analysis
The cause of this failure is that the control module relay contacts were burned out by high current when starting.

Solution
Replace the HGM4010CAN control module and expand the DC12V/10A relay on the start output port. The two contacts are connected in parallel. After changing, machine starts normally.

Summary
In fact, the fuel, the start-up and other related output ports of the control module which may withstand large current during the operation should be expanded. This can ensure the normal operation of the generator set.
